What is correct about the United Kingdom's parliamentary system?

The UK parliament consists of of two 'houses' . The house of commons - which is a democratically elected group of some 650 members. Each Member of Parliament (MP) has been elected by the voting public. The house of commons is a mixture of hereditary peers (those who have had the title 'Lord' handed down their family through generations) and those who have been bestowed the title by the reigning Monarch.
Proposed bills are first read and debated by the MP's in the House of Commons and, if passed by a vote, are sent to the House of Lords for ratification. If it needs amending, it's sent back to the House of Commons to be changed (and debated again). Once the bill passes through the House of Lords, it's sent to Buckingham Palace for Her Majesty the Queen to sign - officially making it law.
