Why alias or second name not allowed in Islam?

There is nothing that prevents the use of second names, as long as the name itself is ok. In fact, it is preferable to choose a "nickname" (its not exactly that). These usually have Abu (father of) or Ibn (son of) attached to the beginning of another name/nickname. For example Abu Hurraira (Father of the Cat) is an apostle that had a cat, and took it everywhere.
