Don't worry, it's ok to be nervous, and lots of guys love it when their girlfriend is shy ;) Try phrasing it differently and getting him to say it first. You could ask him for example what he thinks about you. If he doesn't say he loves you, you could ask him "Do you...?", wait for his reaction, and if he doesn't get it add letter by letter until he does ("...love me"). You could also say things like "I love spending time with you so much". He might ask you back whether you love him or tell you he does.
