When Jeep was owned by AMC (up to 1986), they used parts from both Chevrolet and Ford. Jeeps made after 1986 generally use Chrysler parts, though some still contained parts from competitors. In 1985 and '86 you could find Jeeps made by AMC and Chrysler (seperately), but by 1986 AMC had used up it's existing stock and Jeep became entirely made by Chrysler.
