Are 3D televisions bad for the eyes?

Not only bad for your eyes, but bad for your health as well. The 3d effect is created by forcing your eyes focus to cross in an unnatural way. This causes muscle fatigue and may after an extended period of time cause permanent damage.

Are 3d TVs bad for your eyes?

If you are using shutter glasses, your eyes may get tired if the glasses are not operating properly. Each side of the glasses take turns showing an image frame and a black frame at the same time. If the glasses are good quality and are properly charged, it should not be an issue. There is no evidence to suggest long term harm caused by 3D glasses.

Are 3D TV glasses bad for eyes?

There is no evidence to suggest that 3D glasses are harmful. However, they may cause discomfort or even headaches in some cases. Some people tolerate the glasses better than others. This is one of the reasons why it is so important to audition several models before buying. Make sure that the glasses are comfortable, that the image is realistic and that the family all enjoy watching 3D.

Are the cheap 3D glasses the ones that are known for the bad side effects?

You are incorrect. Headache and nausea are the most common side effects and they are mostly associated with Active 3D TVs which use Shutter Glass technology. These require flickering to send images to both eyes, one at a time. They are the most expensive type of 3D glasses available. Fortunately, there are flicker free 3D glasses available and I'm sure they're battery free also.
