Probably down to genetics and 'programming' ! Boys were taught from an early age that they were expected to be the 'provider' for families, while girls were 'conditioned' to be home-makers. HOWEVER - in these days of equality - these 'stereotypes' are (thankfully) no longer the 'norm' !
