Macs are far more user-friendly, with a better operating system (Mac OS X). At the end of 2008 the known viruses, to PCs, was to hit one million. While the amount of known viruses, to Macs, was less then a dozen. Macs are more expensive, but have a longer battery life. Your average PC costs less but has a shorter battery life. So if you spread the Macs cost over it's battery life you end up paying less for the Mac then the PC. Finally, Macs are compatible with Windows XP. So with the new program, Boot Camp, your Mac will allow you to run XP.

∙ 13y agoThey aren't, people assume that macs are better because they compare a $2000 mac to a $600 windows computer, you get what you pay for. A $2000 windows computer is just as good as a $2000 mac.
Macs are computers. Windows is an operating system. You can use the Windows operating system on a Mac computer. The question is meaningless.
AnswerBecause 99% of Mac owners have never had to deal with a virus, never had to reinstall and rereinstall their operating system. Macs are more user friendly and more reliable in every way. You get what you pay for when you buy a Mac. A $2000 PC is much more vulnerable to viruses than a $2000 Mac.

PCs are way better then Macs but Macs are PCs so the question is meaningless. If the questioner wanted to compare PCs that run the Windows operating system and those that run Mac OS X the question remains meaningless as Macs can run Windows as well as Mac OS X if required.
