he had a very soft voice and easy to here so you can understand his words

r.i.p. mj

(following is from a newbie to wiki answers):

I'd like to add my take.

First off, speaking as a baritone, his songs are impossible to sing for me, for the most part.

This is because Michael Jackson was a high tenor, and wrote songs tailored to showcase the upper extremities of his own range.

MJ's modal range: G2 - Eb5 (minor 3rd above tenor 'high C').. including falsetto, that goes up to at least C6, a.k.a. high C, the one sopranos refer to.

The larger percentage of men end up baritones, which is the adult male "middle" register, above bass and below tenor. A common baritone range is F2 - F4 (or a little higher). This is my range.

As a result of this, I have to sing most MJ songs an octave below, which is below my tessitura but still sounds alright (better than my falsetto), but if I had just a half octave extra on top, I'd be able to sing with MJ so much better.

To get to the point, if I understood your question correctly (and it's not something else, like about catchiness-level), I'd guess that you may be a woman, singing his songs in the same register or one higher, or you may be a man like myself, singing an octave lower or perhaps invoking falsetto in order to sing in MJ's register.

The other possibility (besides you being a young child) is that you're a male tenor (like Jackson). If that's the case... wanna trade voices?

Kidding. I always wanted to be a tenor, but it's better to make the best of the voice I do have.
