Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) are encouraged to date people with the same moral standards, preferably of the same faith. There are several reasons for this. First, you marry who you date. Those who marry people with the same religious and moral beliefs tend to have happier relationships and stronger families. The family is the most fundamental unit of society, when the institution of the family falls apart, society does also.

Second, Mormons have very high moral standards based on Biblical principles. If you are dating people without these high standards, the chances that you will let go of your morals are much higher. The Church does not want it's members to fall into sin, and surrounding yourself with people of high moral standards is one of the best ways to avoid sin.

Can Catholics and Mormons date?

Although both Catholics and members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) are generally encouraged to date members of their own faith, Mormons and Catholics can (and do) date.

Is it against going out with people if you are a Mormon?

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) can and do date. Most Mormon teens choose to follow the suggestion of Church leaders which is to avoid dating until age 16. Church members, especially those of marriage age, are encouraged to date. Mormons are typically encouraged to date others of similar moral and religious standards and are reminded that the purpose of dating is to find a marriage partner.

Are Mormons told not to have relationships?

Certainly not! Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) are encouraged to develop friendly relationships with everyone around them. As young adults Mormons are encouraged to date and develop relationships in search of a potential spouse. Mormons are asked only to avoid romantic relationships if they are: 1.) Under sixteen 2.) Already married 3.) Serving as missionaries

Can Mormons not date non-Mormons even if the girl is willing to convert when she marries and goes to stake dances and has a lot of Mormon friends?

Mormons can date whomever they want, but are encouraged to date other members of the church. Dating can lead to marriage, and Mormons believe that if you marry in the temple, you can be sealed to your spouse for eternity. However, both individuals must be members of the church in order to be sealed in the temple. If you are willing to convert, why wait until marriage? If you have a testimony, join the church now, and then you don't have to worry about not being able to date Mormons because you will be one. :)

What do Mormon believe on relationships?

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) are taught that they should strive to have good, friendly relationships with everyone, regarless of their faith or background. Mormons are encouraged to be friendly and loving to all people. As far as romantic relationships go, Mormon teens are encouraged to avoid dating until they are at least 16 years old. They are encouraged to date others that have the same high standards, although not necessarily those of the same faith. Mormons are expected to avoid any sexual relationships outside of marriage and forbid homosexual relationships. They are also encouraged, but not required, to marry others within the faith. Mormons are not against mixed-faith or mixed-race relationships. Married Mormons are expected to be entirely devoted to their spouse. Adultery or polygamous relationships result in excommuncation from the Church.

Is it ok to date a Mormon if you are Christian?

Are LDS people allowed to date other non-LDS?

Yes it is allowed. Each member makes their own choice of who they do and do not date. The reason why many LDS singles choose to date only other members of the LDS church is because they wish to date someone who lives by the same righteous standards they do. They date members who, if they fall in love, they can be married to in an LDS temple for time and all eternity. Only LDS members of the church who live righteous LDS standards can enter the temple. It's really very romantic. These members choose to find a love that can last forever, not just 'till death do they part'.
