Animal cells are shaped differently from plant cells because they have different functions and have different parts like it doen't have the cell wall and the plant does.

Plant cells have a cell wall which makes them tend to be more rigid and square-like under a microscope.

Inside, they also have chloroplasts to generate ATP instead of mitochondria.
