Animals are tested because they dont want humans to be harmed however sometimes they do test on humans. Unfortunatly in the science world many people don't think that animal rights are that important really. Lastly, believe it or not testing on animals is vital to scientific progress as without trying out things first on animals we can not be sure they are safe for humans to use.

Cosmetics are made from chemicals. Chemicals can have adverse effects on the human skin. To ensure that cosmetics will not be harmful to humans, research laboratories test these on animals first.
