If bobcats were to go extinct rodents, rabbits and other small pests would have one less predator to manage their populations, this in-turn would cause other imbalances within the ecosystem to occur. It's always bad for an ecosystem's health when a top predator species is removed. Bobcats are already considered an endangered species in some states, Man is the bobcats worst enemy.

Black panthers are not a species in their own right. You get black jaguar leoapard serval and various other cat species. Black panthers are very rare (genetic condition). It is suggested that perhaps 1 leopard in 1000 is born black. This means that unless there is a distinct advantage to being black (which means that the black animal can survive and hunt better than its contemporaries)

One place where being black is certainly an advantage is the malayan peninsular which is heavy jungle and therefore dark. Early reports from here suggest that up to half of the leopards are black, but a 2007 report failed to find a single animal that was not black.

There is a place in Kenya in the highlands where the majority of the servals are black.

To summarize as black panthers do not describe a species but a genetic mutation in a range of species, they do not exist to go extinct (they are not genetic enough to even be called a subspecies, it is like saying brown and blond haired girls are different species. Where there is an advantage over time a black subspecies or species may evolve but there is not one now. However many of the cat species which create black panthers are in danger of extinction

Black panthers are either just black colored leopards or black jaguars. Neither leopards nor jaguars are endangered, but if both species went extinct, it would leave a gaping hole in the predatory end of the ecosystem.

Black panthers are, for one, not a species unto themselves. Black panthers are either black leopards or jaguars. Neither cat is in any immediate danger of extinction.

There is no particular species called a Black Panther. It may be a melanistic (black) jaguar or a melanistic leopard. Neither species is in immediate danger of extinction.

What would happen to the fossil records if a toucan became extinct?

Nothing would happen todays time. Fossils are evidence from the past. If the toucan were to become extinct there would be no fossil records of this specific generation of toucan. The fossil record would be the same only you can look back to see what random mutation occurred that was not adventageous causing this species to go extinct.
