cell are the basic building block of an organism .they are present every where in body.cells are different in shapes and size because they have to perform there functions accordingly where they are present.

Size and shape are directly related to structure and function of said cell. Also, for example, plant cells are often in rectangles as they have cell walls where as animal cells are often 'blobby' because they have a cell wall and no cell membrane
