I've always thought that toilet seats like that were standard design for a shared male/female bathroom so that when a guy pees and it gets on the seat (and he's too lazy to wipe it off) then girls won't have to worry about getting pee on themselves when they sit down.
You will hardly believe it, but this is formally laid down in The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials' Uniform Plumbing Code. The idea behind it, the Code goes on to explain, is that a) it facilitates front-side wiping by women and b) it reduces the risk of urine contamination by men who can't be bothered to lift the seat first.
In the privacy of your own home you are free to chose a closed closet seat if you want and a plumbing official will in that case be happy to forget his Code (and who knows, maybe even his oath) and install it for you.
That's supposed to make it healthier in that someones privates do not dangle on the seat. -Really.
because there used for men and women
try manciniracing.com and see if they offer it.
Because it is assumed that home toilets are not used nearly as often, and cleaned alot more. Also it is assumed you don't have 20 people living in your house using the same toilet without cleaning it, and there will be much less spread of germs because fewer people are using the fixture. Your exposed to alot more germs in a house then you could ever get from a toilet seat. Think kitchen countertops and dishes. And that bed that's never been turned or cleaned.
IN the trunk there is a lever for each side of the split rear seats, disengage for each side.
The Chevy HHR is a compact car with many great features. It has a split rear seating ability and front seats that flatten to provide for larger cargo needs.
It has two front bucket seats and 1 row of seating in the bacj, The back row will seat up to three, but 2 adults comfortably. The back seat also folds forward with a 60/40 split to accomodate longer items in the trunk area.
My 2003 Vibe has a split rear seat and each of these seats has 2 bolts at the front of the cushion. Simply unscrew these 4 bolts and lift up at the front of cushion. Needed this to clean out garbage which lodges under seat.
You probably won't be able to find any. Most salvage yards will not keep something that old when it is not something special. The fabric on Toyota's from 1981 tends to split especially on the top edges where sun shines on it. It is unlikely that there are any seats anywhere to replace what you have. You could probably replace the front ones with newer seats by either drilling new holes in the floorboards or transferring the seat to the old runners.
Yes
seats 5 2 buckets in front- 60/40 split in the back (5 PASSENGERS) Just for anyone asking this question in the future it does seat 5 people, 2 buckets up front and a bench for 3 in the back. It is not a 60/40 split bench it is all one piece. It really turns out to be 4 adults and maybe 1 really small child.
They are called incisors
