I don't know if you remember, but one the news some time ago now, there was a discussion about cows. They were saying that several people got injured per year from female cows with calves. The cows would charge at people if they had a dog which they think is threatening their calf. They are just trying to protect their young. Also, bulls can be dangerous as they are very strong. Even if they are just being playful (yes, they can be) they can still hurt you because of their size and strength. Also if they feel they are in danger, they will go through anything and anything to get away until they come to something stronger or bigger than them which you are not. This is why many farmers no longer have bulls.
