They aren't. Most Democrats and some enlightened Republicans support the Constitutional guarantee of freedom of religion, freedom of assembly and the rights of private property. That means Muslims (and Christians) can worship the way they want, can get together in a facility to do so, and that such a facility can be built on private land if the landowner wishes it and local zoning laws are not violated.

They are supporting the Constitution, not mosques. In addition, not all mosques are radical any more than all churches or synagogues are. The degree of radicalism preached is dependent on the clergy who run the mosque/church/synagogue and their congregations. The vast majority of American Muslims are as afraid of radicalism as the rest of us.

In fact, many of them have been attacked by radical American Christians just because they are Muslim or look Muslim. Christians used to do the same things to Jews.

Stop believing everything you're fed by Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and Bill O'Reilly. American Muslims are not all radical and out to destroy the country. That's what everyone thought at the beginning of WWII when Japanese-Americans were rounded up and put into camps; losing their property in the bargain, because some Americans thought anyone of Japanese descent was an enemy. In fact, Japanese-American soldiers were among the most decorated in the War.
