Classifying "emos" as being depressed is a stupid and stereotypical, being an "emo" is a reflection of the music you listen to and your sence of style.. people like to make a relationship between being depressed and being an emo, because of the generally sad and suicidal lyrics related in certain emo songs. Depression is a serious disorder and should not be classifyed with being an "emo", as you may know not all "emos"are depressed, and not all people who are depressed are "emos".

∙ 13y agoWell it's because they possibly have a condition with emotional problems. They may, not have a good family... maybe one that doesn't respect them or treat them right. there could be may reasons everyone is different.
Don't make fun of them because they have a condiition or because they are what people call "emo" also please don't judge them. They're people to and deserve respect :D

usually sad or random or hyper like me! EMOS act like themselves. nothing more.^_^. the real answer of how emo acts are their emotions but emos dont show their emotion when it isn't needed they show it if it is let's say if their sad they will talk to someone about it and show alot of emos thought ^0^

Some do. But not all.It's stereotyping emos to say that they all do. Just because some people don't know what emos are, and they just assume they all do. But some do cut themselves. It's up to them do decide if they want to cut themselves or not.

People (non-Emos) think that Emos overreact about little problems in their life. They think Emos think they have bigger problems than everyone else and are spoiled, depressed people that deserve to die. Those people just don't understand that Emos do what they do to help themselves cope.
