Ghosts and the supernatural generally, were manifestations of mans fear of the unknown. They are an attempt, through ignorance, to explain what could not be understood by our ancestors.
What we cannot understand we sometimes fear and invest such things with great power, often far beyond the ordinary.
It is much better to try to solve such problems instead of fearing to confront them.
Being afraid is not necessarily a bad thing, it makes us cautious. However we should not let that prevent us from investigating such matters, it usually brings greater understanding of the world in which we live and great benefits too.
