Human nature dictates, and The Bible affirms, that all will sin. Romans 5:12 - Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned

But Jesus makes clear by the following teaching that young children live in an age of innocence, not yet knowing sin: Matthew 18:2-3 - Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven."

He also clues us in on when that time ends and the point of personal accountability has arrived with the next verse: Matt. 18:4 - "Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

When we lose that childlike humility, the egocentric attitude that follows will inevitably lead to "sinful" behavior; as soon as we understand the concept of sin (which is what "guilt pangs" are all about; we ARE born with an innate ability to understand right and wrong), we become responsible for our decisions and actions. Until then, God sees little ones as sinless, fit to be among the "greatest in the kingdom of heaven".

Human beings are called sinners because there was a real fall into sin by the first humans and all humans born since have inherited the same nature. This doesn't mean that people can do no good at all, but that whatever they do, they do as people who are naturally sinners and who tend in that direction. Even the good people do is tinged with sin as motives are not always pure, nor do people give God the glory but rather tend to take praise themselves for their achievements. This also is part of being sinners.

The concept of all people being sinners is one of the most offensive of all Biblical concepts, since many people like to think of themselves as being good. Being without sin is something only achieved by Jesus Christ, and sinners are those who need Him to save them from the consequences of sin, which is death. Thus all people need Jesus Christ, in the Christian view.

Because they choose to call themselves sinners. Look there are so many religions that have millions of followers each believing they are the "right" one. Well, someone has it wrong huh? Anyway do you believe a guy who threw himself on a hand grenade to save others would be sent to hell by any of the God's of any of the religions? If you answer no then you know the thing to do is live a life which you help those in need, be trustworthy, treat all things on earth with respect and when the time comes who ever you face will know what the right thing to do is.
