Both are linkage institutions with the people. Media is a source of information and agenda setting by focusing on the issues they believe important. Interest groups buy access to congressmen by contributing to their campaign funds. They will use this access to educate them about our interests represented by that group. So it depends on if you are more for setting an agenda by focusing on an issue, or paying for Congress to listen to our issues.
