Playing by cats mostly mimics their instinctive hunting skills.
The observation that cats "play with their prey" is based on an instinctive response to prey that is still active, and could conceivably inflict harm on its attacker. Once the prey stops moving, it is no longer a threat. A cat that is accidentally injured by a toy will avoid it and not voluntarily play with it again.
Cats will play when they are not required to hunt for food. Playing by cats mostly mimics their instinctive hunting skills.
When playing with other cats (or humans), they will not deliberately inflict serious harm. This is the difference between playing and actually fighting.

Some times cats are frisky because of the weather change. But usually it's because of personality, breed or the way they were brought up.
Also, because they're horny buggers, and are aroused at the sight of their own furballs, because they remind them of cat testicles.
well...because if they are younger they just live to play.thats the age that they are really playfull. But...when they are older especilly if they are over 1 yrs. old they dont really like to play anymore. They just like to sleep in the day and hunt at night.:)
Not all are playful.
Usually cats are like hunters
They chase mice and try to chase a feather.
Some are just really lazy and fat cats like the 40lb cat the worlds fattest cat :(
Poor kitty had to die from obese
Well, they get hyper sometimes. There are other resources to use to find more details on this topic.
All young animals are playful and curious. That's how they learn, explore and perfect their skills. Weren't you playful and mischievous when you were young?
It depends on what kind of person you are. Some people want a quiet animal just to lay around with and pet such as a cat, but others may want a playful animal, someone to take places, therefor a dog would be better. Not True, cats are so playful. Old cats are only cats that are quiet and dont do anything. Kittens are the most playful things!! their so cute!! Oh!! just got another point. Most people like CUTE pets. So they get a kitten, because it is cute. Dogs are ugly, but they play a lot. To me I think that it all depends on what you like, cats yes can be very playful but can also be quite lazy or quiet, but that goes for dogs too, dogs are usually very playful, but can also be lazy or just not that active. I don't think dogs or cats are better than each other, but they are two animals living in the same kingdom of life, that are sometimes very much alike.
Zero. Thinking that pets have human traits is one of the things that people get the wrong ideas about. Cats are cats, and they have cat habits. They are neither nice nor mean, because those are human habits. Cats are not social animals like dogs, so they usually don't "need" a human in the same way that a dog will. Cats are more likely to like you as a playmate and food-bowl-filler instead of as a packmate. This doesn't mean that cats are not nice - it's just the way cats are. They are the only pet that we have which has never really been domesticated. Cats moved into human houses, but they are still wild animals inside!
Yes dogs are the best. Some people like cats but dogs are way better they are loyal, they can do jobs like being i eye seeing dog of the blind and a police and many more, they can go for walks, they are a man best friend, they are playful and they can do a lot more stuff then cats and less people are allergic to dogs then cats
This question calls for an opinion and opinions will differ from person to person. Some people prefer cats and others like dogs more. Do not remove answers simply because you disagree with them.
some pet are playfull
It depends on the kind of cat. Some are independent. Some depend on you. Some are playful and some are more serious. Some cats might like attention and others might want you to leave them alone. They can be lazy or playful. It depends mostly on the breed but some are odd and act differently than most of their kind.
The response a cat has to catnip toys depends on the cat. Each cat can respond differently. Some cats tend to get playful and aggressive and others will get mellow and relaxed.
The Abyssinian cat is a breed of domesticated cats with a distinctive ticked coat. The features of an Abyssinian cat is that they are much more active, playful and intelligent.

Dogs are primarily the most interactive and playful pets you will find. Others tend to be more decoratative and passive (Rabbits, Hamsters, Fish, etc.) Cats can be playful with string and toys also but are more independent then dogs.

They get fed more And they don't get as much exercise. Also it is genetics.
It really depends on the cat. Some cats are lazy, some are playful, some cats prefer human company and can spend hours on their owner's lap, whereas other cats are a little more independent and don't like to be stroked or picked up too much. Most kittens play, they sleep all the time and ALWAYS eat.
The amount of shedding really depends on the breed of dog and cat, the individual animal and its lifestyle. All cats and dogs shed fur to some degree, but others will shed more than others.
Pretty much any. Some individuals are more attentive than others, though.
Some people say so, others prefer cats.
