The German Shepherd Dog is a wonderful family pet, apart from that it is used as guard dog, as guide dog for blind and deaf, and help police and military in different jobs like search and rescue, sniff out drugs etc.
German Shepherds help the blind by being a guide dog. Having a guide dog is quite expensive, but they are special dogs trained to help someone get around. For example, a guide dog will walk someone down the street and stop when the person needs to stop (such as on a street corner). The owner of the dog will hold onto a handle which is on a special harness on the dog. It takes about 21/2 to 3 years for a dog to be able to be at this point.
Labrador
There may be others but, an Australian made a hybrid of a labrador and a poodle in about 1999 to form a labradoodle. They were bred for blind people as guide dogs as labrador's are great guide dogs and poodles dont moult.
If training is started young, dogs such as Labrador retrievers can be trained not to bark. This is done for guide dogs when barking would disorient a blind person.
The puppies resulting from a Labrador / Poodle mating, are known as Labradoodles. Some have become excellent guide dogs for blind people.
Labrador's are made for hunting, swimming, and, labrador's are made for police dogs too.
no not all of dogs are good at the same thing. Therfore Labrador's are usually used for blind people and others as police dogs.ex. Some dogs have a nice life by not doing anything but there may be sometimes when theres a dog which a blind person gets they might or not obey them.
