Hi im doing a report on whales and you need to know why people dislike whales or want them killed or culled?
People who kill whales for their blubber,teeth,(etc.) are called Whalers.

Once the whales are in the ship, they kill them and take out all their organs and much more. After this process, the things they do not need from the whale, they throw back into the ocean. There are also more places where this happens such as, Iceland, Indonesia, and many more places in the world. Fortunately, the United States has banned it.
Can whales live on the shore?
No, whales cannot live on the shore for an extended period. Whales like Dolphins need for their skin to be wet all the time, also in water they are basicly weightless and their physiology is such that when out of water for extended periods of time they become very tired from just the incredible effort it takes just to expand and contract their lungs. The above posters are correct, but I would like to add that whales need the buoyancy of water and if beached their own weight will kill them.
Should People kill whales?
No, there is no longer a need for hunting them. The only peoples who should have a limited harvest are the Arctic's native peoples, who use them for food as a part of their culture.
