Why are men stereotyped by women as being jerks and only caring about sex?

Because men are "programmed" to have as much sex as possible. If you stop to think about it, early humans had a really tough time reproducing. Women frequently died during childbirth, could only have one or possibly two children a year, and had to care for those helpless babies for as much as two years before they could survive on their own. So nature preferred humans who could have lots of sex.
It's really hard for guys to know when we're just sexually excited and when we're actually in love. (And many women have the same problem!) So it's pretty easy to fool ourselves, as well as our partners.
Finally, guys reach orgasm long before women. Women don't actually have to reach orgasm in order to get pregnant. That's nature again: you don't want to spend too much time rolling around having sex -- a tiger might eat you! So the guy finishes, rolls off and falls asleep, leaving the gal unsatisfied. The good news is that guys can learn to delay orgasm, and can find other ways to help their partners reach orgasm. The guys who care will be happy to help their partners! Sex is a team sport, and like most things, improves with practice!
