Vegetarians who drink milk are called Lacto-vegetarians (that's how they want to classify themselves).

Milk is not vegan, however. Vegans eat no animal products at all.

Milk is produced for calves of Cows/Buffalos. So, thinking rationally you could only classify it as non-veg. Secondly they are proteins from living body, synthesized by living body and contains ANIMAL FAT.

Let us look at the composition of milk:

About 98% of milk fat is a mixture of triacyl glycerides. There are also neutral lipids, fat-soluble vitamins and pigments (e.g. carotene, which gives butter its yellow colour), sterols and waxes. Fats supply the body with a concentrated source of energy: oxidation of fat in the body yields 9 calories/g. Milk fat acts as a solvent for the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K and also supplies essential fatty acids (linoleic, linolenic and arachidonic).

And most vegetarians say, animals are not harmed while harvesting milk so it could be called vegetarian. But its just a bad argument, if i suck 50 ml of blood from a goats body with a needle, not causing much pain or harm to the life of that goat and then drink it, will it make the blood vegetarian?

Its clearly non-vegetarian. And, anyone who call themselves vegetarian and drink milk could be called an hypocrite. We are just omnivorous social animals.

After a cow gives birth to a male calf it is taken from his mother and gets slaughtered for veal. When a cow can no longer produce milk it is sent to the slaughter house. Day old male chicks are killed. When chickens stop laying they are killed. Chickens lead lives full of suffering.

Not all vegetarians believe eggs are non- vegetarian. Some vegetarians avoid eating eggs because they believe they are eating a baby chicken (which is incorrect, since none of the eggs in supermarkets are fertilized; laying chickens are always kept separate from cockerel's to avoid fertilized eggs). Buddhist vegetarians avoid eating eggs because they symbolise rebirth, rather than the belief that they would actually grow into baby chickens.

There are many kinds of vegetarians. Some eat eggs and dairy products. Those types of vegetarians are known as "Ovo-Lacto Vegetarians." There are also vegetarians, known as vegans, who eat no animal products, whatsoever, including eggs, dairy, and honey. Many vegetarians give up eggs because of the known suffering that exists within the egg industry, and some vegetarians give up eggs for health reasons.

If you eat eggs are you a vegetarian?

Eggs are not part of all vegetarian diets, but only of ovo-vegetarian or ovo-lacto vegetarian diets. It is considered that a non-fertilized egg has no life in it.Some religious vegetarians, such as the Buddhists, Jains, Hindus and Sikhs, do not consider eggs vegetarian. In conventional egg production--Just hatched male chicks are killed, either by being gassed or being thrown into a mincer.'Spent' hens are sent to slaughter. So killing is involved in commercial mass egg production.(Comment--my daughter's teacher gives non fertile eggs to her students from her pet chickens. I felt okay about accepting those.....)If the objection is to the exploitation of animals, then eggs and dairy are generally excluded. This is the vegan philosophy.Only if you are a lacto-ovo or an ovo vegetarianIn simpler terms, vegetarians can eat eggs, vegans do not.

Why milk is vegetable and egg is non vegetable?

Neither are vegetarian in the purest sense. Nor are they vegetables at all. Dairy is considered to be a product that comes from a mammary gland--butter, cheese, milk, cream. Milk is dairy, and, well, eggs have been clumped in the dairy category for want of anything else. One thing you can be sure of is that they're both animal products.
