Why are parents of a child who is anorexic not aware of what is happening?

I hope that you are not wanting to do this yourself. I am a recovering anorexic, and because of this I have heart problems and teeth problems. The acid in my stomach would come up my throat and would burn it as well as take the enamel off of my teeth. I have had to have two of my teeth fixed because of this, they each cost me $1,000. Pretty expensive. Also I had gastroesopical reflux disease, and it had to be treated with "the purple pill." My pelvic bone is now narrow and I might not get to deliver babies vaginally because my bones did not have the proper nutrients they needed to grow. How I became anoreix is I would hardly eat anything at all. If I did eat, I would go to my room and start to jog in place. My Mom finally found out and she told me that if I did not start to eat that she would put me in a hospital. So I began to eat again. I am glad that I did too!:)

The parent can't make sure the child is eating while they are at school/work. Often dinner at home is not enough to maintain a healthy weight so the clild will lose weight even when they eat with the family once a day. Parents don't have to require over-whelming information for bringing their children up. But awareness of child activities and health should be taken into consideration. Parents who are aware of the unusual changing in child and his/her health, can bring it to their attention and take responsive measures.

Answerbecause Parent's are indenile about their children. They have a vision of their child growing old with somebody they love and going to college and haveing children. That's a perfect life and it's not going to happen but parent's only expect the best of their child which doesn't include them having an eating dissorder. So their child gets an eating dissorder and they completely block it out until it worsens
