If you mean 'Why are schoolchildren bullied?', then it's because the bullies want to make people think they're tough and cool. But really, there is nothing cool(or tough) about bullying. Buillies also want to try and control other people, get them into trouble and so on.
Research has shown that a large percentage of children who bully are being bullied at home, either by older siblings or by their parents.
Another reason is because schools do not deal with the problem properly, when it first happens. The bullies get away with it so they continue.
Other children who are not necessarily bullies themselves become "bystanders". They are too frightened to stand up to the bully in case it happens to them too.

Well, gathering what I can, bullies bully people for some reasons:
Making them feel terrible (Usually a grudge or getting back at them)
Jealousy (Have you noticed, most of the time, the people getting bullied have something of value / are very smart, and the bullys are jealous)
Thats what I have found out. I have not found it out by being a bully, but by being bullied. I have had about 4 years, and going through another. First one = Claims that I tried to push him over, Second = Claims I insulted his family when I didn't.
Alot of the bullies are quite stupid...

Maybe that child has no friends,so it would be easy for the bullys to bully.
That child might be a different colour. A shy person,so they won't have courage to tell the teacher. Has a problem. The bullies might have been grown up in a bad place,or they have behaviour problems.
Whatever their problem is ,it's not reason for them to bully anyone else. It just proves how unmature people are in this world.
