I was once afraid of singing in front of people until my middle school talent show. I sang (as a 6th grader all by myself) i was so scared of other people's opinion's. I was afraid what people thought of me, and I didn't know how people would react to my song, but if your scared before i went on that stage I thought to myself "well i didn't see any of you go up there."
Well, sometimes people get really nervous singing in front of a crowd of people.I sometimes get nervous when my choir sings in front of a big audience. But,sometimes I do get nervous.
Your family members probably ask you to sing for them because you have a pretty voice. Yes. It makes you nervous. Of course it makes you nervous. Still, you are nervous in front of a group of people who love you. These people accept you. This is where it will not cost you if you make a mistake. This is where you can get used to standing up and singing in front of people. Unlike school, you are not doing this for a grade. Here it is alright to mess up. That is why they want you to practice doing it in front of them.
How about you ask her!!
The song that you should sing in front of an audience is one that you know very well. There is a chance that you may get nervous so if you are comfortable with the song, you are less likely to mess up.
People usually laugh because they're nervous
You need to find the place in your mind where you can be at the same time you have to sing in front of other people. For example - if you're comfortable singing in front of your choir teacher, then in your mind, imagine everyone in the audience is a clone of your choir teacher - and just sing to her. Performance anxiety is worse when you're not prepared and you know it. If you practice and are very comfortable with the material, then this feeling will lessen. Also, if you sing in front of people (force yourself to do it over and over) you'll eventually get over being nervous - it just happens over time. Good Luck, And Have fun singing! Grace Summers <3
i know how you feel i had to sing infrount of a lot of people once
Yes all the time. My voice teacher tells me I have a good voice, yet when asked to sing in front of people, I get all nervous. Tackle your fear of singing in front of people by forcing yourself to do it. It will get easier every time, and you might actually enjoy it after you get over your fear.
If people watching you makes you nervous start by learning how to perform well alone in front of a mirror... Having Yourself starring at you might help a little. (on top of that simply imagine the people watching you are your own reflection) If that doesn't help trying learning how to "space out" or ignore the fact that their are people around you... This can be done by starring or focusing on something other than the people so you don't notice the people around you. Another method is to focus on yourself, by simply focusing on the feeling in your hand, leg, or other body part you can less aware that people are watching you.
If your singing the right note, the right lyrics your singing is correct but to see the mistakes you have to use your ears if the sound isn't like the original song
Let other people listen to the tapes. That way you won't be nervous when performing. Alternatively, try asking a music teacher at school to listen to you sing. Although you may feel embarrassed, the teacher will be friendly and help you train your voice by giving tips.
The most common irrational fear in the world is speaking (singing) in front of others. The reason, the only reason you would fear groups larger than three people is that you do not yet realize that the only difference between the two is that more people make more noise when they applaud.
