because they are wierd
Yahoo! Answers is very similar to this one.
== == It all depends on where they like to get there answers from. Because every one has a different taste on what answer sites they like the best. ************************************************************************* Well I'll start off by saying that Yahoo Answers is not any better than WikiAnswers, but to answer your question, people use Yahoo Answers either because it is the only Q&A site that they ever heard of, or they prefer having multiple opinions and more serious answers. I think people choose WikiAnswers simply because it's easier to use and because they refuse to like anthing from yahoo. I personally dislike yahoo but like yahoo answers very much.
Very likely not, because Answers.com (owns and created Wiki Answers is a very large company and so is Yahoo, so they probably won't merge.
It is very easy to explain an answer on yahoo answers group. You need to create an account with Yahoo and then register with the group to give answers for any kind of question.
Very big. Look for more answers on yahoo.
There are many people who want to know what the first question on Yahoo! Answers was. The answers given are usually that "this was the first test question" and "this was the first question from when public participation was available". Yahoo! Answers started alpha testing on June 28, 2005, and public participation began on December 7, 2005 Even though public participation began on December 7, 2005, Yahoo! Answers was still undergoing beta testing at the time. I think I'm gonna get a lot of flak for saying this, but Yahoo! Answers should celebrate it's anniversary every May 15, not December 7 like it always does. Yahoo! Answers announced general availability on May 15, 2006 (and also removed it's beta tag on the very same day). This was the first question asked after Yahoo! Answers announced general availability: "Wat is the meaning of HTTP?" (May 15, 2006) Every question prior to "Wat is the meaning of HTTP?" is considered a question from Yahoo! Answers' alpha and beta days. In other words, Yahoo! Answers was in it's prototype stages then. So any question asked during Yahoo! Answers' prototype stages should be considered separate from the questions asked after Yahoo! Answers announced general availability, even if public participation on Yahoo! Answers began on December 7, 2005. The alpha and beta version of Yahoo! Answers are not the final product. The alpha version of Yahoo! Answers lasted from June 28, 2005 to December 6, 2005. The beta version of Yahoo! Answers lasted from December 7, 2005 to May 14, 2006. The final version of Yahoo! Answers started, as I mentioned above, on May 15, 2006.
No, really each site has its' own pros and cons. One 'bad' thing about Yahoo is that the answers are very old and often contradictory.
Yahoo! Answers, Answers.com, Askville, General Opinions and Quora. People get their questions answered on all of these site. If you want your question to be answered, it is also good to think of a very enticing title/question.
Suspensions can be appealed just like violations can be appealed, using the link in the suspension notice or the one found in the HELP section on Yahoo Answers. Very few suspensions are lifted, but it does happen. I've known quite a few people who have been reinstated there.
Sometimes yahoo answers can be very helpful. But sometimes is can't, because most of the time people like to full around on it. My advice if you want to play around on it I would suggest the category "Entertainment and Music; Polls and Surveys" it's pretty fun on that category. But back to the question, my main answer is 50,50. But really it matters who answers your question.
They very well do. The "Contributor" is either a non-registered person, or a magic witch using evil curses on Yahoo Answers.
There are many websites similar to WikiAnswers. Quora is very similar to WikiAnswers. It has more features than WikiAnswers, but not as large of a user base. Aardvark is a Q&A service that is designed to get answers fast and it works well, but you can't search for questions on it that have already been answered. Yahoo answers is also like WikiAnswers, except it allows people to post separate answers to questions rather than have everyone edit one unified answer. Other sites: "Yahoo Answers" "Answer Bag" IBOBO
