People are fascinated by the end of the world because we all want to live another day, but The Bible (and their consciences) tells them the 'world' will come to an end, either by man's destruction or some higher power. When the Bible says that the 'world' will end, it is referring to wicked mankind and this wicket system of things, not the planet. Isaiah 45:18 says: "For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited: "I am Jehovah, and there is no one else"."God did not create the earth and all of it's splendor just to destroy it because mankind has polluted it. You will be able to find all of this in your Bible.
When God created Adam and Eve, he told them to be fruitful and multiply and subdue the earth. When they chose to rebel and steal from God, which is what they did, they and all of their future offspring were damaged, and Jesus Christ had to come and remove that damage by giving His perfect life in exchange for the perfect life that Adam threw away. Jesus explained that the end of the the 'world' or 'system of things' was to take place, not the end of the planet. (Read Matthew Chapter 24 in your Bible) That chapter talks about the last days and the signs that we see taking place today. The planet hasn't sinned, therefore it doesn't deserve destruction.
