I have never encountered a pig that didn't enjoy being picked up. In fact the fattest of pigs that I have met seem to make a habit of being the one picking up, and often in a desperate and pathetic manner.

Yes, you can pick lizards up. However, if you have a lizard that hasn't been handled by people very much, it may be frightened by being picked up. With practice, they will learn that being picked up is ok for them.Lizards should always be gently lifted from underneath with your hands supporting their bellies, and never by their tail. Their tail will probably break off as a defensive tactic, and very few lizards will regrow their tail if if breaks off.

Guinea pigs are pray animals. Therefore, when they are being picked up with the legs unsupported, they assume that they've been picked up by a bird of prey, and they squirm violently in an attempt to come loose. Guinea pigs also do not have very strong belly muscles. Picking them up by lifting them under the belly may hurt them. Their instinct-driven squirming may cause them to fall or otherwise injure themselves.
