because the Greek and Romans were the first there so they came up with the names of the planets but in English like Mercury:hermes venus:aphrodite earth:gaia- not actually Greek or roman but is old English mars:ares Jupiter:Zues because it is the biggest planet and he was the biggest of all gods_powers and eldest-ect. saturn:cronos neptune:posidion-? and pluto:hades because it is cold smallest of all and the worst it is not even a planet so suck it hades
