Because you 'earth' it and the signal travels through you.
The radio antenna may only work when you touch it because your body is acting as a conductor, improving the antenna's reception by grounding it and reducing interference.
The motor that raises and lowers the antenna is controlled by a wire which is connected to the power switch in the stock radio. The wire from the antenna itself has nothing to do with raising and lowering the antenna. Touch the wires that were connected to the stock radio to a hot wire and see if the antenna starts to move. If if does, hook that wire to the wire from the new radio which is supposed to control the antenna motor. If there is no such wire, connect the antenna motor wire to the Accessory circut. The antenna will go up whenever the key is turned on. Or, you can get fancy and install a switch for it.

The iPod nano is the only iPod that has radio receiver capabilities. Some radio stations could be found in the App store on the iPod touch and be used with wifi.
You can get to the PokéFlute channel on your PokéGear once you've Kanto Radio stations. Manually move the cursor to the top-middle of the touch screen radio, and exit. Talk to Snorlax and it should wake up however in order to get the Kanto radio stations added to your PokéGear you need to visit the Radio Tower in Lavender Town after you have completed the Machine Part quest.
touch
Yes it's free , i use it all the time . . . . the connection or whatever it is is crapy... it's fuzzy on a lot of stations
Try this... tune in a weak AM station. Have someone "short out" the antenna by touching it while laying a hand on the bodywork sheetmetal. If the station goes away (or "dims out" significantly) then the antenna is good and your radio is likely at fault. If, however, there is NO change when they touch or release the antenna staff then you do NOT have a good/proper antenna connection to the radio (most likely) or the antenna housing. Verify connection to both ends of the antenna cable . Note, you may have to push the antenna WAY into the radio to get it to connect, make shure it cannot be pushed in any farther no matter how hard you try! good luck!
An antenna detects radio waves, smell, changes in humidity, or touch. Displacement and vibration of hair shafts are detected by hair follicle nerve receptors and nerve receptors in the skin. Hairs can sense movements of air as well as touch by physical objects and they provide sensory awareness of the presence of ectoparasites like flies. The compound eye detects light and not touch.
if you get the ipod touch app you can hear the radio if you want a i pod shuffle touch screen it already has radio.
Smelling and detecting things by touch.
You can buy the radio remote, which connects to the bottom of the iPod and picks up a radio signal. You can find the radio remote here: http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38&_nkw=radio+remote&_sacat=See-All-Categories
