these are not the typical primary colors, these are the ones used in displays, however, it is for the same reason. a certain amount of each of these colors, mixed together can get any other color. think about it, red and blue makes purple, then add more red, blue, or yellow (in your case green) to get even more colors. Red blue and green are used in displays, and displays show a pseudo yellow by showing alternating pixels of green and red, which appears on a display as yellow. however, with paints, green and red will make more of a brownish color (hence the Red, yellow, and blue).
