The three religious groups that were in conflict in the Balkans were Islam, Orthodox Christianity, and Roman Catholicism. Each of the religions was fighting for dominance and control of the region.

Catholicism claims to the Mystical Body of Christ on earth. In other words, Catholicism was founded by God, Himself, who claimed that He would be with it until the end of the world, and would guide it into all truth.
