More than likely, No. They don't eat mud puppies. Mud puppies are large salamanders they get to be up to 16 inches long. Most salamanders are not very tasty to mammals. Bears forage on mostly anything but I have never heard tell of them eating water dogs/mud puppies.
No, all salamanders are indeed strictly carnivores
A mud puppy is an example of some kind of salamander. These rare salamanders are unique because they make noise unlike other type of salamanders.

No Mud Puppies do not lay eggs they are born as a tadpole.
Axolotl's are a kind of salamander that have evolved into a paedomorphic state.More Mud puppies and many cave salamanders also exhibit paedomorphosis. The most obvious example is that these salamaders retain external gills, a juvenile trait, into adulthood and throughout their lives. They often also retain other juvenile traits, such as webbing on the tail and feet.

well they are very cute ^_^
First off there is no such thing as a mud dog. They are called mud puppies. Secondly mud puppies are closely related to newts and they usually live at the muddy bottom of deep streams. I forget what they eat but they look like a very large newt/salamander that is brownish in colour.
