Sea turtles are becoming extinct because their eggs and their meat are taken for food at a faster rate than the animals pro-creating and producing more turtles. They also take the shell. This poaching is illegal in most places because sea turtles are protected (people still do it).
Secondly, they mistaken plastic bags as food, which make many of them sick (a fraction do not survive).
Thirdly, fishing nets entrapped turtles for too long that they eventually drown.

∙ 12y agobecause seagulls eat them after they are born, they get eaten and made into turtle soup by humans, they swallow plastic which makes them choke, they get stuck in nets and drown and they go on land to lay their eggs and light confuses them.

the moonlight guides the turtles back to the sea, when people shine the lights on the beaches the turtles think that the lights are moonlight so they walk in land.
they are also being kept as pets which doesn't help.
