Bullies keep picking on poor children; making fun of them even though they don't know what's really happening in that child's life. Like the kid could be beat at home then beat up at school and that could make someone want to die - or the teasing keeps making them think that they are not needed in this world, that they might be need somewhere else. So they take their life because they "don't belong".

Because so many Christians are decent people.
Kids are not allowed to wear necklaces at school for safety reasons. Necklaces can pose a choking hazard if they break or get caught on something while children are playing or running around. To prevent accidents, schools often have rules in place to limit the wearing of jewelry, including necklaces.
It is important for kids to stand up to bullies so that they wont be picked on and they can become more confident in themselves. Kids are bullies because of insecurity and the household they live in.
They lived in the "goondocks" in Astoria, so they were coined the goonies by the high class kids as well as themselves.
