They can sense who they are.
What do you mean!!! ? lol ---- I personally think if a dog behaves in a certain manor with one person than another it is not the dog it is the person that is giving out a different energy/emotion which can change a dogs behaviour as dogs are very sensitive at understanding humans emotions: For example My dog, Todd when you are outside in the Garden Running around with my younger cousins he will play with them and be generally excited but if one of the children falls over he will stop playing and go up to the children with concern. This goes back to natural instincts as dogs in a pack would look after each other and as they cannot communicate verbally they pick up on each others emotions. So in answer to the question dogs appear to like some people more than others because it is the person themselves who is feeling different. (hope some of that made sense to anybody?? lol) ----
There are many reasons why a dog may not like other dogs. They may be territorially threatened or threatened in some other way, or even just intimidated. They may be aggressive or violent, they may have food aggression, they may be antisocial or suffer from anxiety due to bad exposures or no exposures with other dogs. There are as many reasons as there are dogs. A common problem with aggression toward other dogs is a lack of exposure. Dogs need to interact with other dogs when they are young to avoid aggression or anxiety toward them in later life.
There are many dogs who like other dogs or at least tolerate them due to proper training and exposure. It's the same way with dogs and cats. If they are raised around each other and trained well around them, they can get along very well.

Dogs are nice if they have owners that treat them right. If a dog has an owner that chains them up in the backyard and almost never feeds them, then the odds are: they are going to be mean in some way. Dogs like Pit Bulls and Rottweilers have agression bred in them, and cant be erased, no matter how many years of obedience school they have.
Different breeds are bred to have certain traits. Some dogs have companionship as one of their inbred traits, whereas some other dogs might be bred to be guard dogs and aren't that friendly to strangers.
Sometimes if you wear a special perfume or deodorant they don't like the smell. Or they don't like you because you are afraid of them even if you try not to be.
Well, its just like how some people like some kinds of food and others dont. Its the same with dogs.
there is more people who like dogs than people who don't like dogs
Most of us have more sophisticated ways of gathering info on other people.
It's a matter of opinion. According to a book I read on cats, more people have pet cats than dogs. BUt that doesn't mean they like cats better. It really just depends on the person itself.
no, id say dogs are liked more as their are more breeds and more people like dogs
Yes! In fact, all dogs can dig. Some dogs just like digging more than others.
Dogs are better, but cats are equal. For me, I love dogs. because I'm not a cat person, but some people are cat people, and not dog people, like me.
Some people like fish because they are quiet and peaceful, but others don't like thembecause they are quiet they like things more like dogs who are loud but playful andpets who greet you when you come through the door.
I cant pick there both so cute. It would be hard to say one I like them the same A lot of people like cats more than dogs. But a lot of people also like dogs more than cats. I like both. It's a matter of opinion.
Cats are very shy and most of them dont like people. But dogs love people.
Assuming you mean "are dogs cleverer than cats", the answer is difficult. Dogs seem to be more intelligent than cats, but much of that intelligence is used for socialization skills, which cats don't need. So cats are cleverer at some things, like hunting, while dogs are cleverer at others, like getting along with people and dogs.
They help people more and are usually great watchdogs.
