Drugs can be highly addictive, so that's one of the main dangers.

Most of the drugs are meant to be used medically, so if you use them too much you can overdose / do serious damage to yourself.
Drugs are considered dangerous because they typically have chemical and/or physical effects on the person using them, some of which may be harmful to you, that can result in changes in state of mind and/or behavior. These effects are felt and interpreted differently by every individual, and because of this can cause potentially dangerous behaviors. The risk of addiction is also considered a danger, due to obvious reasons.

Street drugs are very dangerous because in the process of making them, the creators mix different chemicals. This can make some drugs stronger than others, so you hope that what drug you do isn't too strong, causing an overdose. Also, to create some of the drugs they have to mix poisonous and harmful substances, so whatever you never know what you are putting into your body. However, marijuana is perfectly fine, and the only reason why it is illegal is because it grow pretty much anywhere so the government can't tax it.
