Islam is a religion and hinduism is a "dharma". Every religion has a set of rules which should be followed by the follower of that religion, but dharma is about living your own way of life. you can live your life as your wish and find your own path to god. The holy books of hinduism and islam are totally different. the main difference is that muslims are asked to follow the quaranic rules to live their life but hindus are independent to choose their own way until and unless it does not harm others.
