Gee, thats quite an unusual and strange question, i must say!!
But many children/babies go to orphanages because its too difficult for the parent(s) to have a baby (they cant afford it, was an accident ect.)
Orphanages have children and have to pay for everything themselves, bills, schooling... children cant work so theres no support coming from the children either financially. They are not given enough money by governments as well sometimes.
I must say i admire orphanages quite a lot!
Of coarse the wealth of an orphanage all depends on which country it is in, some are poorer and some are richer than others.
I simply used common sense here... hope i helped! :)
Most orphanages of the Middle Ages were run by monasteries. It seems some cathedrals had orphanages as well, because some were put in the care of monasteries and others in the care of bishops.
Food or donations
In some of the orphanages they had teachers come and teach the children. And the orphanages were all around the country.
Different nuns do different things. Some live in a convent, others do community work for the poor, and others run orphanages. They probably all pray daily for some amount of time. It is cool to help orphans, widows, and the poor. There are Carmelite nuns, Franscican nuns, and Catholic nuns.
How many orphanages are there in america?
They were responsible for providing Social Services such as poor houses, orphanages and public assistance.
Some do love their children but some others might send to orphanages.
There are no orphanages in the U.S. or Canada. Orphanages in other countries have different views, depending on the orphanage.
We have foster care, but no orphanages .
There are at least 10 orphanages in Miami-Dade county.
The Great Depression affected orphanages because so many homeless people didn't have the resources to support their children. Some children in the orphanage were, in fact, orphans, but some where their because of tough family financial times. The highest number of children "enrolled" in orphanages reached a record high of 140,000 children.
