Any adult member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) who has been "endowed" in a Temple ceremony has in some ways been sworn to secrecy. This involves the majority of adult Mormons.
As a part of the endowment ceremony, an initiate promises a few times "before God, angels, and these witnesses" that they will "never reveal" what is about to be shown to them. This promise is made immediately before a key phrase or symbol is given, and the promise only applies to the specifics of that phrase or symbol. The reason why is this:
These phrases and symbols are considered sacred. Because of their sacred nature, they should only be revealed to those who have proven their commitment and faith and thus will treat them with reverence and respect. Mormons believe that if someone mocks or misuses these sacred things, they will face the wrath of God. Thus, by keeping these things from those who are unprepared or unworthy to receive them, they are saving them from facing God's punishment.
we do not do that in our church and we have no secrets. we have things that are sacred. theres a big difference. if you want to know about it go to lds . org
They are sworn to secrecy.
Some synonyms for the word secrecy are privacy, secret, hugger-mugger, and mystery. Secrecy is the action of keeping something secret, or the state of being kept secret.
"The very word 'secrecy' is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths, and to secret proceedings." -JFK
Yes it is.
A sworn affidavit is necessary in court cases to provide a written statement of facts or evidence under oath. This helps to ensure the accuracy and truthfulness of the information provided, as it subjects the individual making the affidavit to potential penalties for perjury if they provide false information. Sworn affidavits help establish a formal record of testimony or evidence that can be used as part of the legal proceedings.
it depends on the church...at my church we have the microphone, a hymnal and some notes for people speaking
The reason people bother with the church is that many people are religious and believe that they must attend church to be close to ones "God". Church is where some people go to pray and find peace.
Some people consider church their favorite place since it is where they get their spiritual nourishment. They feel closer to their creator when in church.
Some are sworn law enforcement officers and some are civilians. It depends on the requirements and needs of the agency or department that employs them.
The people were protesting some corrupt practices in the Catholic Church.
Secrecy sometimes could be a crime, but some times not & also it depends on the situation. Example: Military personal can't tell some secrets regarding weaponry and their storage areas. If these secret's are leaked, then it is a crime.
Some people drive to church.
