Teachers are very straightforward (aka strict), especially in the first part of year, in order to create a learning environment and boundaries. Once everyone knows what is expected of them, then they tend to loosen up a bit. Most will unbend as long as you are not trying to change the basics of the classroom experience and do not expect that there will be exceptions made in your favor.

Because they have to have more experience and schooling and would like you to be someone in the future . They want what is best for you (: Also for them seeing you fail is like telling them in the face they are the worst teachers even though they've studied and paid so much to get to where they are at right now .
