I would guess that the law of supply and demand has a lot to do with this. In other words, as long as enough people are willing to do a certain work for a low salary, there is really no inentive to increase the salary.

∙ 12y agoUnfortunately this is a very common practice all over the USA. Some will argue the fact that teachers are not really underpaid, just their first year is a low income. Once teachers reach the college level their salary increases dramatically.

∙ 14y agoIt depends mostly on where they are at as to how much they get paid. And one thing people seem to forget is that they work 9 months of the year and most spread the pay out over 12 months.
