Because their brains aren't fully developed yet and with time comes experience. They don't have that. And may I add that it's good if the parents remember when they were like that, with no experience and not fully developed brains. Might lead to less friction at home.

It it generally true that teenagers from one generation to the next are more worldly wise than their parents?

Teenagers MAY be more technologically "worldly-wise", but they do NOT have the wisdom of older generations, including parents and grandparents. In fact, gadgets may interfere with common sense and one-on-one communication for teenagers.

Why Teenagers are more worldly wise than elders?

Young people are more exposed to the current culture than parents, because the responsibilities of a family will usually lock working parents into a fixed schedule and a limited number of locations. Through schools and other activities, teenagers are exposed to a greater range of daily experiences. It should be noted that while most teenagers do feel that they are more knowledgeable (with popular culture and events), they do NOT have the wisdom gained through experience, and can often overestimate their capabilities.

Do teenagers have the same views on marriage as their parents?

not many people have the same veiws of life as their parents, partially because they are from two differnet generations in which some things that never used to be socially acceptable are now, especially not marriage. MY parents tell me to wait until i am at least 25 but when i think about it i would be ready for marriage and a family at the age of 21. watever you choose just make sure its a wise choice. although nowadays marriage is taken for granted and it is far to easy to get a divorce.

Do adults criticize the way teenagers speak?

Yes, some adults can criticize the way teenagers speak. Often teenagers can speak perfect English, but sometimes use words such as 'ain't'; 'my man'; 'my woman'; etc., and this is often frustrating to a parent or other adults and the parents especially may correct that teenager because they know their child is more intelligent than that. It is in the way an adult talks to a teenager that is most important ... not talking down to the teenager, but speaking to them as an adult while getting their point across to the teenager and it a wise teenager that listens to good advice.
