Because people who make tuna catch the dolphins in the net with the tuna and strangle them to death. Even if the can says dolphin safe it is estimated that up to 6 dolphins were killed to make tht one little thing of tuna... SAd isn't it? Also global warming is effecting the dolphin species, and dolphins are being caught in illegal fishing nets, also things like oil spills and pollution is really effecting their population!

∙ 13y agoWhile hunting for their favorite food, herring, they are caught in the tuna fishermans nets and die. ( tuna love herring too )The strange thing is that the fisherman use the dolphins to detect the tuna and without the dolphins their job would be a lot harder.humairah
