They are used to produce sugar during the dark reaction
O2 is the byproduct. animals using it for respiration.
It is the first phase. It makes NADPH and ATP.

The first stage of photosynthesis is called the 'Light Dependant' stage or the photolysis of water. this is when light enters the cell and splits water into hydrogen and oxygen. The oxygen is then released into the atmosphere and the hydrogen is picked up by the hydrogen acceptor NADP becoming reduced NADPH2 which is then used for the next stage of photosynthesis.
You would expect to find photosynthetic organisms at the greatest depth in the euphotic zone of the ocean. This is because sunlight can penetrate to this depth, providing the necessary energy for photosynthesis. Beyond the euphotic zone, light levels decrease rapidly, making it difficult for photosynthetic organisms to survive and carry out photosynthesis.
The positive is that it gives light, which is useful at night or in dark corners.
One light year is equivalent to about 5,878,400,000,000 miles on earth.
light reactions in plants takes place in the sun.reactions which occur after the light reactions are dark reactions.
The byproducts of photosynthesis are oxygen and glucose. These are made when the processes known as the Kalvin Cycle and the Krebs Cycle.
1) Plants use light for transport of electrons from water molecules in chloroplasts. 2) this electron transport leads to transport of protons which are necessary for production of ATP by ATP synthase protein. 3) this ATP is used for incorporation of CO2 into sugars (sugars = carbohydrates)
Energy comes from the sun, which is our natural ligh. The sun produces heat and light for the planets. Without the sun we would not exist and the planets would go off in a straight line.
