Cause ancient Greeks believed in the natural beauty. They believed that a man should be καλός/kalos=(handsome) and αγαθός/agathos=(kind). They were also saying ''A healthy mind exists in a healthy body''. So they had so many nude figures cause they weren't ashamed of their nudity, after all that's the human body, that's how nature made us all, it wasn't pornografy as some people say, it was only an exhibition of the natural human beauty.
In a nutshell, the ancient male Greek statues represent the ideal heroic male athlete.
The primary reason for the lack of female Greek nudes would be the idea of it being immodest in the male-driven ancient Greek world (particularly in Athens). There was really no reason to show off the female nude body like that (unless it was pornography or in reference to a goddess).
Check out the Venus de Milo (Louvre Museum) for an example of a half-naked Greek female statue. The statue shows Aphrodite/Venus with her garments draped around her hips. It's quite sexual due to the idea of what's below the garments if she were to just drop them a little further, and this idea flows with the idea that she's the goddess of love. This depiction would have been appropriate because of her role in Greek religion.
Males habitually carried out functions like athletics, gymnasium, cleaning themselves naked.
It was interesting from the 2nd Century BCE when the upper classes of Israel adopted Greek language and culture, and took on the baths ritual, they were embarrassed by their circumcision - male bodies were meant to be unblemished (except for honourable war wounds). So they invented an operation to reverse circumcision in order to avoid ridicule in public (see biblical book of Maccabees).
The Greeks thought that the human body was beautiful: so they showed it naked.
