The first ancestors of mammals appeared in the Carboniferous period about 358.9 ± 0.4 million years ago.
Before this time there were no mammal or mammal like creatures present to become fossilised.
Mammals produve low number of offspring.
It is on the upper left side of the steering column, low down, near the similar looking low-high beam switch. Both of those are manipulated by rods instead of being in the upper column.
On the top side of the steering column about halfway down, the high beam/low beam headlight switch should be bolted to the column right beside it. Inside the vehicle.
There is a small, round, black button to the left of the steering column down low on the dash.
On my 93 it's on the left hand side of the steering column down low in the dash. The ash tray in on the right of the column and the fuse box is on the left behind removable panel.
83 cutlass is either in the steering column (down low away from the turn signal probably, or in the column "multifunction switch", possibly on the floor, but one would assuem you have looked. Relentless
On my 87 Cutlass Ciera the hi/low switch for the headlights is actually bolted to the steering column, not quite half way down, towards the left-hand side (close to the clamp which attaches the steering column to the underside of the dash). The switch is pressed by a steel rod that snakes its way up the steering column to the turn signal lever.
Mammals produce a low number of offspring. Take humans, cats or dogs for example xHope i helped ;P
To the right hand side of the steering column behind the fascia, down quite low.
